Natalie Witwer Metzger, Miss Ohio 2001-2002
Winning Miss Ohio at 19 years old meant that I had three more years of school to complete after crowning Tiffany Haas. After a whirl-wind year of experience that prepared me for the “real world”, I made my way back to the one square mile town of Oxford, Ohio and completed a B.S. in Business Marketing in 2004 at Miami University. That fall, I married Matthew Metzger (also a Miami grad) and we began our new life together in the Big Apple. New York City has proven to be an exciting place with limitless opportunity. I spent the first several years here working with a modeling/television agency while Matt played the role of Duke Buchanan on the ABC soap One Life to Live. In 2006, I decided to begin my business career in Finance at a Private Equity firm called Crestview Partners. Here I have gained a solid foundation of business practice and formed relationships with many remarkable individuals who will be woven into my life for years to come. In November of 2006, I was able to put a check mark next to a life-time goal: to run a marathon. I crossed the finish line of the largest marathon in the world at Tavern on the Green just blocks from our apartment – it was an incredible experience!
In the future, Matt and I are excited to work together in the entertainment industry and have plans for several impending projects both in front of and behind the camera. Living away from home has proven to be bittersweet as I miss family and friends (and the smell of fresh flowers and green grass!), but I am thankful to have the experience of living in such a dynamic place during these years of my life.
Lea Mack Compton, Miss Ohio 1995
After completing my B .A. in Music Therapy at Florida State University, I became a board certified music therapist (MT-BC) and have worked in Ohio, Wisconsin, and South Carolina, where I currently live with my husband Clint Compton. In addition to my clinical music therapy work, I have an active schedule of inspirational speaking engagements and retreats for civic, social, professional, and religious organizations. I'm also an award winning devotional writer and the author of a free, international, daily devotional outreach called Daily Transformations.
Janelle Couts
I have enjoyed an adventurous career since my reign as Miss Ohio 2003. I boldly entered the Fashion and Entertainment industry as a licensed cosmetologist, which quickly led me to a career in International Spa Consulting. As Project manager for an international consulting firm, I have had the opportunity to speak at the European Spa Summit in Paris, visited projects in Morocco, France, and Italy, and was recently published in Spa Management Magazine. I now love living in sunny Florida where I boast living across the street from the beach! My experiences with the Miss Ohio program have given me a springboard into the international business world and I looks forward to being a supporter of the program for years to come.

Melanie Murphy Miss Ohio 2006
I wanted to keep you updated with new things that are
happening in my life.
First, I am officially a graduate of Cleveland State
University. I graduated on Sunday, December 14, 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in
Digital Media and Film Production with a minor in Journalism. There have been
many opportunities that have come my way. I am very blessed!
I will continue to work part-time at WBNX the CW as a
writer, producer and on-air personality. I am the host of the new show called,
"Better Cleveland," which airs weekdays at 2:00pm. The show is Northeast Ohio's
daily guide for better living. The content of the show is based from magazines
like Better Homes and Gardens, Parents, More, and others. If you have any show
ideas, let me know.
I also took on a full-time position with The Salvation
Army in Ashland as the Youth Ministries Coordinator. My role is to work with
the children, teens and young adults and introduce them to a life with Jesus
Christ. I coordinate bible studies, Sunday worship, dance and art ministry
programs, summer camps and retreats and more. What's incredible is that I get
to work together with my wonderful husband Matt, who has accepted a position as
the business and development administrator for The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
It's amazing that I have made the long commute from
Ashland to Cleveland and Ashland to Cuyahoga Falls everyday for 1 year. Now I
am just minutes away from my job! Matt and I can walk to work!
For my final project for school, I produced a marketing
piece for the new Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center that will open in
Ashland at the end of April. The video has been posted online. You can learn
all about The Salvation Army and how Ashland was awarded a Kroc Center. It's an
incredible story.
