Entry Information
In order to compete in a local preliminary here in Ohio, you must abide by rules and guidelines set by the Miss America Organization, the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program and the specific local you will be entering.

The state and national information along with required forms are described below and may be downloaded from this site.

You may visit the specific local preliminary web pages here on this site and well as contact the Local Executive Director for any additional information, requirements, form and deadlines for submitting the required information.

Contestant Application

Those seeking to enter a local preliminary must submitting a standard Contestant Application form. This application indicates you request to enter the local program but does not guarantee acceptance. The application requires your signature and one copy must be sent to the local program.

Contestant Contract
The Contestant Contract indicates your understanding of the Miss America Program, the eligibility requirements along with the responsibilities of a title holder. You must complete TWO copies of the contestant contract, sign and submit both copies to the local program. The local program will sign both copies and return one copy to you on the day of the pageant.

Contestant Resume
The Contestant Resume is one of two items presented to the judges and becomes the basis of the interview process as well as the first impression of you as a contestant. There are specific instructions for the resume and at least one copy must be sent to the local program. Please check with the local program regarding the need to submit additional copies.

Contestant Platform
Contestants are required to be involved with an issue or social cause demonstrating community service. This issue or cause is referred to as the contestant platform. In addition to the contestant resume, you will need to provide a platform statement which will help the judges gain valuable insight to your chosen platform and your contributions. There are specific instructions for the platform statement which require your signature and at least one copy must be sent to the local program. Please check with the local program regarding the need to submit additional copies.

Contestant Competition Rules and Guidelines
Each phase of competition has rules and guidelines that must be followed to assure a fair and safe competition environment. These rules and guidelines also provides information on what the judges will be looking for in each phase of competition to better understand the value each segment brings to the overall selection of the title holder.

Contestant No Show Rules
Contestants are welcome to enter as many pageants they wish through out the state provided the meet the eligibility requirement for each pageant. However, once accepted as a contestant, the contestant is expected to attend and participate. Individuals that do not attend the local pageant without notifying the Executive Director with an acceptable reason may be suspended from participation for up to one year. The Contestant No Show Form requires your signature and one copy must be sent to the local program.

Children's Miracle Network Platform Information
The Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids by raising funds for 170 children's hospitals across North America. The Miss America Organization has become a goodwill ambassador and pageant contestants will assist in fund raising efforts in order to be eligible to participate at the local, state and national programs.
